Many insurance providers typically exclude coverage for items such as dressings, medications, and medical devices such as orthotics and splints. If self-pay fees apply, your podiatrist can provide details about the associated costs. Please be aware that The Arch Foot Clinic is unable to liaise with your insurance company on your behalf. If you have any questions or concerns about your policy's coverage, we recommend reaching out directly to your insurance provider before your appointment.
It's important to note that AXA may not include coverage for podiatry treatment unless you have a referral from a consultant. However, we suggest verifying this information with Axa directly, as individual policy terms can vary.
Nail surgery per toe operated patients will need to pre-authorise the following: S7010. This code includes local anaesthesia and phenol. For biomechanical assessments, orthotics and podiatric surgery, it is vital to check with your insurance company that your podiatrist is registered with them and if their treatment is covered by your policy. Most companies require a GP referral or a consultant referral. Insurance companies often pay for biomechanical assessments but will not pay for orthotic devices.
